Gallery Talk

This exhibition aspires to examine the space in which we breathe, in these challenging times in which we are forced to suddenly stop everything.

The works displayed are by prominent artists who live and work in Israel, and they invite us to consider how encountering their art affects us as viewers – raising questions, provoking thoughts, evoking emotion, creating tension or inspiring memory or longing. Each in her own unique way expresses the hopes, the fears, the thoughts and feelings we experienced, and gives viewers the experience of looking inwards and becoming aware of the importance of space in our lives – the spaces between inhaling and exhaling.

This special meeting will begin with a few minutes of silent seating in the gallery space, and breathing exercises based on the traditional practice of Vijnana Yoga, under the instruction of Yael Oliver-Podga. We later will continue to a gallery talk conducted by exhibition curator Ronit Reik, with artists Ella Amitay Sadovsky, Orna Ben Ami and Murjan Abo Deba.

  • Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required.
  • Places are unmarked.
  • Please wear a mask and observe the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

  • Light refreshment will be served.
