A Tour of Intellectual Jerusalem

Outside. Evening. Rehavia.

Scholarly Jerusalem, the city of academics and scholars, is widely portrayed in literature and cinema. During a tour of the Rehavia neighborhood, which has always been a nexus of Jerusalem’s intellectual world, we will read excerpts from Eli Amir’s Bicycle Boy, S. Y. Agnon’s Shira, and the works of Leah Goldberg and others. We will stop at locations where scenes from Talia Lavie’s One in the Heart, Footnote (directed by Yosef Cedar), and Dan Wollman’s cinematic adaptations of Amos Oz’s My Michael and Pnina Gary’s An Israeli Love Story were filmed.
