A tour following the Jerusalem archives

Outside. Late afternoon. Cinematheque.

The Jerusalem Film Archive is (almost) as old as the city itself. On this tour, we will delve into the depths of the archive and dredge up movies and scenes that King David did not see, watch some historical gems, read some of Yehuda Amichai’s poems and S.Y. Agnon’s letters, go through the restored room of author Haim Hazaz in Mishkenot Sha'ananim, and marvel at the changing faces of sites in the city from 1917 until the War of Independence (and onwards). We will end the tour at the Cinematheque, where we will meet with Meir Russo, director of the archive, who will reveal to us some of its secrets.
