Pavel Wolberg

Born in 1966 in Leningrad, USSR.

From 1994 to1990, Pavel Wolberg studied photography at Camera Obscura. He has won numerous awards, including the Constantiner Photography Award in 2005.

Wolberg documents the events of the day according to the needs of the press. The political situation in Israel is both the background of his work and its raw material. His images are not staged. They depend on "luck," and when luck is with him, he never misses. He has a rare sense of documentation, for the choice of a photographic angle, composition, and light. The result is a rich gallery of scenes and events centered on the complexity of Israeli society and its paradoxes.
