Boaz Aharonovitch

Born in 1970 in Israel.

Boaz Aharonovitch completed his photography studies at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem with honors, and went on to continue his MFA studies there. In 2002 and 2004 he was awarded the Sharett Scholarship, in 2003 he won the Rami Halperin Prize, and in 2005 he received the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture’s Young Artist Award and the Rich Foundation Award for Excellence.

Aharonovich examines the representational possibilities of photography in a digital age and constantly examines the limitations of the medium on the one hand and the new possibilities that are open to it on the other. The main issue that concerns him is the strengthening of the connections between the family framework and the social, political, and environmental frameworks.
